CENTRAL CRIME STATION SEIZED CODEINE BASED COUGH SYRUP, TABLETS AND GANJA, ARRESTS TWO   Port Blair, Dec 20: Acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, Police team from Narcotic Cell of CID Unit consisting of SI M.A Rasheed, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constables K.Rajendran & Raja Rao intercepted two persons namely Kamal Das S/o Late. Jeevan Das R/o KamrajNagar & Sujit Biswas S/o Mr. Ravi Biswas R/o Calicut at VSI Airport who had arrived at Port Blair from Kolkata on 19/12/2022 by flight. During checking of their personnel belongings, 12 bottles of Codeine base syrup, 200 tablets of Nitrazepam (0.5 mg), 50 tablets of Nitrazepam (10 mg), 75 tablets of Alprazolam (0.5 mg) and 915 grams of Ganja which was clandestinely concealed in the bags were seized and accused persons were arrested observing all codal formalities.  A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at PS CCS and investigation is being carrie...

Rohingya boat adrift without supplies near Andaman islands report by Rohit The UN is urging countries around the Andaman Sea in South East Asia to assist a boat carrying at least 150 Rohingya refugees which has been drifting without power for two weeks. People on board the boat who have been contacted via satellite phone say a number of passengers, including children, have already died. They said that food and water supplies had run out. The UN made its appeal on Friday but so far there has been no response. The small fishing boat left southern Bangladesh last month and has now been at sea for more than three weeks. Those on board are believed to have been trying to reach Malaysia. The boat is open, with little shelter, and its engine appears to have failed a few days after it departed. PORT BLAIR, DEC. 13: report by rohit Acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, Police team from CCS consisting of Inspr S.Kannan, SI M.A Rasheed, Constables K.Rajendran& Raja Raoarrested one person namely SwapanBiswas S/o Late RashikBiswas, resident of R.K Pur, Little Andaman on 10/12/2022. 1.020 Kgs of Meth Amphetamine was recovered and seized after observing all codal formalities from accused which was clandestinely concealed behind house. A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at PS CCS and investigation is on.
